Sexual bribe sought from actress to contest from MR’s party
Published Date: 07/01/2018 (Sunday)

By Ashanthi Warunasuriya

A sexual bribe had been demanded from an actress who had sought to contest the Local Government elections from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) headed by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Madusha Ramasinghe told The Sunday Leader online that she had decided to give up acting and enter politics.

She says that she sought nominations from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna to contest the Local Government elections.

However she says an official close to Rajapaksa has demanded a sexual bribe in order to ensure she is given a nomination.

Madusha Ramasinghe said that she worked for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and with the Local Government elections being announced she felt she must contest.

However the official in the party had said that she will need to pose nude in order to be given a nomination.

Ramasinghe said that she had raised the matter with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa but he simply expressed regret and did not take any action.
